Bishop Vincentiu of Slobozia and Călărași explained that the healing of the emaciated man reveals the secret of the forgiveness of sins, on Sunday, at the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady in Slobozia.

"The Gospel pericope that was read is a pericope about the mystery of the forgiveness of sins. This theme is introduced by the Savior himself in His first word, which He addresses to this paralyzed man: Take heart, son! Your sins are forgiven," said His Eminence.

The hierarch explained that before physical healing, the Savior offers spiritual healing, thus showing that the forgiveness of sins represents the beginning of man's restoration.

At the same time, the Bishop of Slobozia and Călărași highlighted the faith of the four men who brought the emaciated man before Christ: "Seeing that there was no possibility of entering the house through the crowd that surrounded the house, they lowered the maternity hospital with the body of their paralyzed friend in front of the Saviour."

The Most Reverend Father Vincent pointed out that the strong perseverance was noted by Christ, Who "was greatly amazed by the faith of these four men".

Jan NovákPřečetla jsem si to a hned mě napadlo, jak ten biskup řekl, že nejdřív přišlo odpuštění hříchů a teprve potom uzdravení těla. To dává smysl, protože kolikrát člověk řeší jen ty viditelné problémy a duši nechá stranou. Ta vytrvalost těch čtyř chlapů s provazy mě taky dostala – to je přesně ta víra, kterou bychom měli mít, když někoho nosíme v modlitbách.
