Bishop Veniamin met with the children participating in the Red Parish Summer Schooltranslated

Bishop Veniamin of Southern Bessarabia met on Thursday with the 24 children participating in the "Face of Christ" Summer School organized by the Red Parish in the Cahul district of the Republic of Moldova.

His Eminence spoke to the children about the beauty of childhood and youth lived in communion with God and in the Church, emphasizing that the years of childhood are the best time to lay the foundation of a life built on faith, prayer and good deeds, informs the Press Office of South Bessarabia.

The hierarch urged them to always keep the love for Christ in their hearts, to be obedient to their parents and teachers, to regularly participate in the Holy Liturgy and to never stop praying, because prayer is a source of strength, peace and blessing.

That's nice the bishop took time to sit with those 24 kids at the Roșu parish summer school. I like how he told them to pray while they're painting the icons of Christ — my son used to get distracted the same way when he tried drawing in Sunday school. Sounds like a peaceful day in Cahul.

That's a good number, 24 kids. I like that he watched them paint the icons of Christ and told them to pray while they worked — keeps the mind from wandering like my old fishing buddy used to say about tying flies. Quiet days like that stick with them.
