Bishop Nicodim served at the patron of the Balta Monastery, dedicated to Saint Athanasius the Athonitetranslated

Bishop Nicodim of Severin and Strehaia served on Sunday at the patron saint of the Balta Monastery, dedicated to Saint Athanasius the Athonite. The service was attended by clerics, monks and believers who came to honor the patron of the monastic settlement in Mehedinți County.

The hierarch explained how the monastery came about and the right framework it provides for monastic life: "For about 80 years, a hospital has been operating in this part of Mehedinți county."

"It is a beautiful place, a picturesque place, which ensures the tranquility of the residents, necessary for the parents who spend their lives here."

For her part, the mayor of Balta, Irina Zoican, emphasized the joy of the local community to host this celebration.

"It's wonderful that we can participate in such beautiful events. I'm happy that this is happening here, in Balta commune, and may God help and bless us all," the mayor told Trinitas TV.
