Кардинал Матео Зупи, председник Бискупске конференције Италије (ЦЕИ), започео је четвородневну посету Украјини заустављањем у притворском центру Захид-1 у области Лавов, где се налазе затвореници заробљени током борби за руску војску. Доносећи поклоне и поруку од папе Лава КСИВ, рекао им је: „Папа се моли за вас“ и изразио наду да ће се „ускоро вратити кући“.
