Bossey academic year begins, opens path to discovery

The academic year began at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey with an opening ceremony for 33 students from 21 countries and 28 churches.

Students are enrolled in programmes that will earn them a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Ecumenical Studies, Complementary Certificate in Ecumenical Studies or a Master of Advanced Studies in Ecumenical Studies.
Beginning with prayers in the chapel, the group will take part in a four-days orientation programme under the theme “ Building an Ecumenical Community - Exploring our differences and our commonalities.”
Reflecting on the start of the academic year, the academic dean, Fr Lawrence Iwuamadi has this to say: “We are delighted to welcome students from around the world into the Bossey community. At a time of growing polarization and division, Bossey remains a place where people from different churches, cultures, and contexts learn, pray, and grow together.
