On the evening of Thursday, July 2, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, went to the camps of the Holy Metropolis in Kassiopi, North Corfu, where he performed the Consecration for the start of the first camp season, which hosts elementary school boys, while he had the opportunity to talk with them, such as and with the camp staff.

Such a memorable year - 1400 years since the Akathist psalmology! In Yaroslavl we also often read it on Easter, especially when children are studying. How happy it is that in Kerkyra the children are learning this tradition.

I remember well how as a child in Yaroslavl on Easter, my mother took us to church to listen to the Akathist - especially when we studied in primary school, like you. Do you, like in Kerkyra, also read it in high school, or only in junior school?

In Yaroslavl, on Easter, in the Church of St. Nicholas, the Akathist began with the junior classes, and in the senior classes they learned other chants. Did you then listen to the Akathist only on Easter, or on other holidays?

In Munich, in the Church of St. Barbara, the Akathist is read by candlelight on Easter. As you write, in Yaroslavl children study in primary school - do they participate in reading or just listen?
