On the eve of the 16th Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass celebrated an all-night vigil at the St. Simeon Cathedral. The ruling bishop was concelebrated by the clergy of the cathedral, led by the key cleric, Archpriest Vladimir Manichev. The day before, an ark containing part of the relics of the blessed Matrona of Moscow from the Tula region was brought to the St. Simeon Cathedral. Every day hundreds of believers come to worship the shrine. The saint’s relics will remain in the cathedral until the evening of September 29. During the reading of the canon, Metropolitan Alexy anointed the believers with consecrated oil. At the end of the service, the cathedral clergy performed the troparion “Under Your Mercy,” dedicated to the Most Holy Theotokos. Metropolitan Alexy cordially congratulated the parishioners on Sunday, thanked them for their joint prayer, and wished God’s help in all matters and a Guardian Angel on their way. Tomorrow morning the Divine Liturgy at St. Simeon's Cathedral will be celebrated by Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass. The service begins at 8.45.
