Chaplains from Romania and from several European countries gathered at the International Conference "Good practices in conducting moral-religious activities in Romanian and European penitentiaries", held in Timișoara, Arad and Deva.
The work of the conference started last week at the Timișoara Penitentiary with the Te Deum service officiated by chaplains, led by Father Cristian Antonescu, the coordinator of the chaplains within the National Administration of Penitentiaries.
The program continued with the consecration of the "Council of Holy Romanian Women" icon, followed by the first communication session dedicated to the pastoral-missionary activity carried out in the penitentiary environment.
On the first day, priests of the Romanian Orthodox Church from the diaspora, from Spain, Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Malta and Hungary, also participated, who presented pastoral experiences from the communities they shepherd and contributed to the exchange of good practices regarding the moral-religious activities carried out in European penitentiaries.
