The Roman baths in Dacia are presented in a multimedia exhibition in Pompeiitranslated

A multimedia exhibition dedicated to the Roman baths in the province of Dacia opened on Monday in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii in Italy, to present the archaeological heritage and thermal culture of the Roman period.

The exhibition, entitled "Balnea Daciae. Roman baths in Dacia", is hosted in the men's section of the Terme Forumului and can be visited until September 30, 2026. The initiative is promoted by the Embassy of Romania in Italy, in collaboration with the National History Museum of Romania and the Pompeii Archaeological Park.

The event is part of the program of the Romania-Italy Cultural Year 2026 and is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.

The exhibition is curated by archaeologist Ovidiu Țentea and presents the cultural links between the Roman world and the province of Dacia, a territory that largely corresponds to today's Romania.

Digital research Through multimedia materials, archaeological research and digital reconstructions, the exhibition presents the role of public baths in the social life of Roman communities and the circulation of ideas and lifestyles in the Roman Empire.

It’s interesting that the exhibition was staged in the men’s section of the baths of the Forum in Pompeii. Ovidiu Centea is great for taking on digital reconstructions - it’s always better to see what these baths in Dacia actually looked like, and not just read about them.
