The celebration of the Cathedral of Agia Kyriaki in Sofiatranslated

On July 7, the Orthodox Church honors Saint Kyriaki, the great martyr who suffered for the Christian faith in the city of Nicomedia in 289. On this day, the Cathedral of Saint Kyriaki in the city of Sofia, built in 1863, is dedicated to her memory. The solemn Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Bulgaria, Mr. Daniel, who was flanked by the Theophilist Bishops of Lefki Mr. Klimis, Mr. Branitis Mr. Ioannis and Mr. Isaac of Velebousdi, as well as a multitude of clergy.
The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Iliana Yotova, also participated in the glorious celebration. Many Christians filled the Holy Temple and a large part of them had prepared to receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude the Patriarch preached the divine word, where, referring to the honored Saint, among other things, he noted:
