The feast of Saint Myron and the ordination of a Presbyter in Herakliontranslated

With particular splendor and in an atmosphere of spiritual joy and emotion, on Saturday August 8, 2026, the memory of Agios Myronos, Bishop of Crete the Miracle Worker, was celebrated in the eponymous Holy Church of Agios Myronos in Heraklion. The High Priestly Divine Liturgy was presided over by the Most Reverend Archbishop of Crete Mr. Eugenios, co-officiating with His Eminence Metropolitan Ptolemais Mr. Makarios, from the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the Theophilist Bishops of Apameia Mr. Paisios and Mr. Methodios of Knossos, with the participation of many clergy and crowds believers.
During the Divine Liturgy, the ordination of Deacon Nikolaos Giannakakis as Elder took place.
The Most Reverend Archbishop of Crete Mr. Eugene, addressing the new Elder in a paternal way, referred to the height, responsibility and sacrificial content of the priestly ministry and urged him to serve Christ and His Church with humility, faith, love, obedience and self-denial.
