On July 17, on the day of remembrance of the holy Royal Passion-Bearers, in the church in the name of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in Lokot, the dean of the Brasov church district, Archpriest Vladimir Safronov, performed the Divine Liturgy and prayer service. The dean offered a prayer to the passion-bearer Emperor Nicholas II, Empress Alexandra, Tsarevich Alexy, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia. In his pastoral speech, the dean noted that one hundred holy Royal Passion-Bearers are included in the Cathedral of Russian Nomartyrs and Confessors, to whom this temple is dedicated. The priest reminded the parishioners that the younger brother of Emperor Nicholas II, Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich Romanov, owned an estate in Brasovo, and in 1918 he was brutally murdered, after which he was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. The priest called on people to remember the lessons of history and protect their faith from being violated, to follow Christ and prayerfully appeal to the holy royal family, whose memory the Church celebrates today.
