THE MUNICIPALITY OF SLIVEN PROPOSES ACTIONS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH Stray ANIMALS ON THE ROADStranslated

The municipality of Sliven proposes specific actions to solve the problem of free-moving stray farm animals on the streets and municipal roads. This became clear today during a meeting of the Regional Epizootic Commission. Deputy Mayor Kamen Kostov presented a draft of a tripartite contract between the Municipality of Sliven, the Regional Directorate for Food Safety /ODBH/ and a contractor to carry out the capture, transportation and temporary accommodation of the animals.
The proposed mechanism aims to ensure a clear procedure and quick response to alerts on free-ranging farm animals that pose a danger to traffic, people and the animals themselves.
According to the draft of the contract, the contractor will capture the animals moving freely on the streets of the populated areas and the municipal roads on the territory of the Sliven municipality. The possibility of transportation and 72-hour accommodation of the captured animals in a suitable facility is also foreseen. In the case of animals with identification, an inspection will be carried out by the ODBH, which will determine the subsequent actions.
