Feast of the Women's Choir of the Holy Metropolis of Neapolis and Stavroupolis "Saint Kassian Hymnographer"translated

In a particularly emotionally charged atmosphere, the Women's Choir of the Holy Metropolis of Neapolis and Stavroupolis "Saint Kassiani the Hymnographer" honored its patron Saint, the Byzantine noblewoman Kassia who exchanged the royal aurgida for the solitary tribune. On Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Holy Cathedral of the Holy Forerunner in Neapolis, a High Priestly Vespers service was held by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis - and Elder of the Choir - Mr. Barnabas. The Bishop of Western Thessaloniki in his short speech referred to "the 27 years of musical creation of the Choir, its contribution to cultural events inside and outside Greece, its artistic contribution to the events of the Patriarchate. The Spiritual leader of the Choir underlined that the characteristics of the action of "Saint Cassian the Hymnographer" are the obedience to the Bishop and the unity among its members. He wished the choirmaster, Mr.

Maria Charalambidou, and to the members of the Choir with humility and a spirit of sacrifice to continue their ministry in the Local Church and wherever else the Holy God calls them each time".

It’s good that the choir has been singing and sticking together for 27 years. I especially liked how Bishop Barnabas said about obedience to the bishop and unity - this is the main thing. Does anyone know what they performed at the all-night vigil that day?

Yes, 27 years of singing together is a big deal. I was also happy what Bishop Varnava said about obedience and unity - without that nothing holds. Does anyone know what they sang at vespers, especially from St. Cassiana tropes?
