The patron saint of Veroia, St. Anthony the Younger, is celebrating – Program of Massestranslated

The city of Veroia will celebrate with splendor during the two days of July 31st and August 1st the summer festival of its patron saint, Saint Anthony of Neos, in the Pilgrimage Church of the same name, to which, as every year, on the occasion of the Feast of the Advancement of the Holy Cross, the Holy Cross from the Holy Pilgrimage of Panagia Sumela will be transferred. On Friday, July 31, at 7:00 pm, the reception of the Holy Cross will take place and then a Solemn High Priestly Vespers will be celebrated. A pandemic litany of the Holy Relics of Saint Anthony and the Holy Cross will follow in the main streets of the city.

At 11:00 p.m. the established Holy Vigil will be held.

On Saturday, August 1, at 7:00 am, the High Priestly Mass and the established Consecration will be held, presided over by our Pastor Mr. Panteleimonos.

In the evening of the same day, at 7:00 p.m., the Meteorite Resurrection Vespers will be celebrated.

Хорошо, что Крест из Сумелы каждый год приносят на праздник. Интересно, сколько народу обычно собирается на всенощную в 11 вечера? В прошлом году, говорят, площадь была полная.

Хорошо, что Крест из Сумелы приносят каждый год, это уже традиция. В прошлом году на литию тоже много людей вышло, особенно когда мощи по центральным улицам понесли. А всенощная в 11 вечера — интересно, правда ли площадь заполняется, или в основном те, кто из храма не уходит.

Да, традиция с Крестом из Сумелы уже лет десять держится, и это правильно. В прошлом году я тоже был на литии — когда мощи по центральной улице несли, народу действительно много вышло, даже с балконов смотрели. А вот насчёт площади в 11 вечера — интересно, сам проверял или от кого слышал?

The cross from Soumela coming every year really ties the whole thing together. Last time I read about it, they said the procession with the relics down the main streets draws folks even from the balconies, like Gregory mentioned. Wonder if the vigil at 11 still packs the square that full this year.

Oui, c’est une belle tradition ce transfert de la Croix de Soumela chaque année pour la fête. L’an dernier j’avais vu des photos de la litanie avec les reliques dans les rues principales, les gens aux balcons, ça devait être impressionnant. Je me demande si l’agrypnie de 23 h attire encore autant de monde sur la place.

Anul trecut am văzut pozele cu litiile prin centrul Veriei, când moaștele Sfântului Antonie și Crucea din Sumela treceau pe străzile principale, iar oamenii chiar ieșeau la balcoane. Mi se pare frumos că au păstrat tradiția asta de zece ani. Oare la agrypnia de la 11 seara chiar se umple piața sau vin mai mult cei care rămân în biserică?

Φέτος σκέφτομαι να πάω στη λιτανεία της Παρασκευής, ειδικά όταν βγάζουν τα λείψανα και τον Τίμιο Σταυρό από τη Σουμελά στους κεντρικούς δρόμους. Πέρσι άκουσα ότι είχε κόσμο ακόμα και στα μπαλκόνια, όπως λένε και οι άλλοι. Η αγρυπνία στις 11 μου φαίνεται λίγο αργή, αλλά αν γεμίσει η πλατεία θα αξίζει.
