The Icon of the Virgin Mary of Askos in the Holy Metropolis of Maroneia and Komotinitranslated

On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Maroneia and Komotini, Mr. Panteleimon, welcomed to the Holy Church of Constantine and Helen Thrylori, the holy miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary of Askos the Nurse (8th century), from the Holy Metropolis of Lagada, Litis and Rentini, on the upcoming feast day of Agia Marini and celebrated the Solemn Vespers in that Holy Church. His Eminence thanking the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Lagadas, Litis and Rentini, Mr. Plato for accepting the request for the arrival of the Icon, as well as its bearer, Fr.

In his speech he emphasized that the Blessed Virgin is our support in difficult times and is a living example of faith, humility and absolute trust in the will of God.
