Metropolis of Rethymno: Pandimi the Feast of Our Lady of Myriokephalostranslated

With the participation of thousands of pilgrims from all over Crete, this year again, during the two days of September 7 and 8, 2026, the Holy Feast of the Virgin Mary of Myriokefalo, Antiphonitria, took place. The two-day celebration was presided over by Rev. Metropolitan of Lampi, Syvritos and Sfakia, Mr. Joakim, who, representing the A.Th.P. the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew, conveyed the patriarchal wishes and blessings to everyone and spoke theologically about this first great Feast of the Mother of God at the beginning of the new church year.

On the holy day, September 8, 2026, a Triarchate Divine Liturgy was held, presided over by Rev. Metropolitan of Lampi, Syvritos and Sfakion, Mr. Joakim and co-celebrants of the Rev. Metropolitan of Brazzaville and Gabon Mr. Theodoros, from the Patriarchate of Alexandria, and Rev. Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos Mr. Prodromos, with the participation of many clergy.

Rev. Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Mr. Prodromos, warmly thanked the holy High Priests, as well as the local rulers, the representatives of the authorities and agencies and the pre-eminent members of the Army and the Security Forces.
