High Priest Vespers Prophet Elias in Vivari of Argolistranslated

The feast of the Prophet Elias is celebrated with religious splendor in the seaside settlement of Vivari Argolida in the homonymous parish church located next to the beautiful lagoon. On the eve of the feast, Sunday July 19, 2026, the High Priestly evening service of Metropolitan Nektarios of Argolis was held. After the end of the vespers, a litany of the Holy icon of the Prophet Elias followed in the village for the blessing of the residents.

The church was built on a plot of land donated by Konstantina Tsipoka in memory of her husband Ilia, her sister Maria and her parents. The foundation stone was laid on June 7, 1989 by His Beatitude Metropolitan Sir Iakovos I. The church belongs ecclesiastically to the Holy Church of Saints Hadrian and Natalia Drepano. In 2014 the church was inaugurated by the Metropolitan of Argolis Nektarios. It is interesting that the temple is built near the beach of Vivario and not on some mountain as we are used to the Prophet Elias.

At the end of the evening, the vicar of the church, Protopresbyter Fr. Ioannis Bavelas, thanked the Priests as well as the faithful who honored with their presence the feast of the Prophet Elias.
