The gifts of sintranslated

By Fr Dimitrios Bokus
The close relationship between sin and illness was shown by Christ, healing the paralytic who arrived in front of him in a strange way (lowered by ropes from the roof of the house), after he gave priority to the health of his soul, preferring physical healing to the forgiveness of his sins (Matthew VI Sunday).
From the beginning God had emphasized to man the causal connection between sin and disease. The commission of sin would bring corruption to the potentially immortal man. Illness, pain, aging, death. Opera and it happened. Man, because of sin, inherited mortality and a life of hardship. Full of suffering and suffering.
The biblical man had a strong understanding within himself that every sorrow in his life came from sin. David feels his sins "like a heavy burden" and mourns for them, considering that because of them the wrath of God fell upon him and his whole body became seriously ill. "There is no healing in my flesh because of your anger, there is no peace in my bones because of my sins" (Ps. 37, 4).
Job hears from his three "comforting" friends that it is impossible for him to have suffered...
