The Church commemorated the memory of Saint Paisius the Athonite on Sunday, July 12, 2026, and the Holy Metropolis of Monemvasia and Sparta celebrated the feast day of the newly consecrated titular church, located within the courtyard of the Institution for the Care of the Elderly and A.M.E.A. “Saint Charalambos” in Elika. On the feast day, the Panegyric Orthros, the Blessing of the Loaves, and the Bishop’s Divine Liturgy were celebrated, with the Most Reverend Metropolitan Eustathios presiding. Addressing the faithful of the region, the Pastor spoke first of the contemporary Saints of our Church, whom the All-Holy God has raised up to strengthen the faith of people enduring the harsh trials of our fallen and alienated age. He then spoke of the honored Saint Paisius, whom he himself had the grace to meet at Mount Athos, and who was known for his unshakeable faith, ceaseless prayer, patience, and humility.
