Metropolis of Nafpaktos: Feast of the Holy Bishops and arrival of the Holy Relic of Saint Polycarptranslated

The Synod of the Holy Bishops of Nafpaktos is celebrated every year on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the Fourth Ecumenical Synod, by decision of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, following a proposal by the Metropolitan of Nafpaktos, Mr. Ierotheos. Together with the holy Bishops of Nafpaktos who participated in Ecumenical and Great Synods, the holy hieromartyr Polykarpos, patron of the Metropolis, was celebrated with the arrival of the Holy Relic of the Saint from the Holy Monastery of Panagia Ambelakiotissa.

The Most Reverend Metropolitans: Mr. Polykarpos of Italy and Mr. Kallinikos of Kastoria participated in the holy feast of the Saints, invited by the familiar Pastor Mr. Ierotheos.

Reception of Holy Relics and Polyhieratic Vespers On Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2026, the reception of the Holy Relic of Saint Polycarp took place, in front of the Town Hall of Nafpaktos, with the dignitaries of the reception being the Reverend Metropolitans, the Priests and Deacons, the Mayor of Nafpaktia Mr. Vasilios Giza, representatives of the political and Police authorities and many believers who revere the Patron of Mountain Nafpaktia, Saint Polykarpo.

Anca TudorI'm glad that the Wood of Saint Polycarp from Ambelakiotissa has come again, this year right in front of the town hall. I liked that the Metropolitan of Italy with the same name and the bishop of Kastoria were also there - as if the connection with our protector was felt closer. Praise God for such a feast in Naupactus.
