The diocesan missionary gave a lecture on family values at the Ivanovo Fire and Rescue Academytranslated

A lecture dedicated to the spiritual and moral foundations of life and traditional family values was held at the Ivanovo Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. The missionary of the Ivanovo-Voznesensk diocese, Priest Sergius Vityazev, spoke to the audience. The priest spoke about the upcoming church holidays and their significance for society.
Father Sergius explained how, in the Orthodox tradition, holidays become a time to strengthen family ties, show concern for loved ones, and reflect on personal service to people. These values are of particular importance for future employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
A significant part of the lecture was devoted to family. The priest spoke about the life of the holy noble princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom - the patrons of Christian marriage, whose life path serves as an example of fidelity, mutual understanding and selflessness.
Using the example of the saints, Father Sergius showed that patience, responsibility and willingness to support one’s neighbor in difficult times are directly related to the professional vocation of a rescuer. Both in the family and in the service of a person, it is important to be a reliable support for those who need help.
