Patriarch of Romania blesses Reliquary of St. Eulogia ahead of Her local Canonization

Patriarch Daniel of Romania blessed the reliquary containing the holy relics of St. Eulogia of Samurcășești on Friday, October 2, ahead of the local proclamation of her canonization, scheduled to take place on Sunday at Samurcășești Monastery.
The blessing service was held at the historic Chapel of St. George the Great Martyr, where the Romanian Patriarch highlighted the saint’s missionary work and her contribution to preserving and defending the Orthodox faith during difficult times.
“St. Eulogia, the Venerable Martyr, demonstrates the important role of lay believers, monks and nuns in preserving and bearing witness to the true faith in difficult times marked by spiritual dryness and secularization,” Patriarch Daniel said.
The Patriarch recalled that St. Eulogia was a member of the missionary association “Patriarch Miron,” through which she actively promoted the Orthodox faith in communities throughout the historical region of Wallachia.
