Church at a monastery in Argeș: the Most Holy Mother of God blessed those who protected these lands, says IPS Teofantranslated

The new monastery in Corbi, Argeș county, celebrated its patron saint dedicated to the Protection of the Mother of God on Thursday.

"For many centuries, the Most Holy Mother of God has blessed those who protected these beautiful lands," said Metropolitan Teofan of Moldova and Bucovina, originally from Argeşe.

His Eminence officiated the Liturgy, together with Bishop Siluan of Hungary, where he showed the blessing and help of the Mother of God for the monks of Corbi.

"A first gesture on the part of the Most Holy Theotokos was when she sent the first monks to the caves in the rock of today's monastery."

Prayer and thanks for the blessing After the Holy Liturgy, the Most Reverend Father Siluan officiated the memorial service for the founders and benefactors of the monastery who passed on to the eternal ones: "The prayer of every soul before God is so great and so important for the whole world."

For his part, hieromonk Ioanichie Sturzeanu, the abbot of the monastery, highlighted the way in which the monastery was built.

"We strongly confess that, indeed, the grace of God and the blessing of the Mother of God helped us to reach...
