His Holiness Father Benedict, the Bishop of Sălaj, consecrated on Monday the new iconostasis of the Popteleac Parish church in Sălaj county and blessed the mortuary chapel in the locality.

The father bishop served on the day of commemoration of the Holy Prophet Ilie Tesvitean, the patron saint of the parish church.

The hierarch officiated the consecration of the iconostasis at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Holy Liturgy, and after the service at the parish church he blessed the funeral chapel in the locality, built with the support of the Gârbou Municipality.

Saint Elijah, model of searching for God The Most Reverend Father Benedict spoke about the Holy Prophet Elijah as a model of faith and seeking God:

"The Holy Prophet Elijah was aware of the call that God gave him, but also the awareness that his mission was ending. He is not the Savior of the world, but he is the one who foretold the Savior of the world, the Lord Christ, through his image and mission."

The hierarch explained that true power is not shown by external gifts, but by the man who seeks God with all his heart and learns to listen to His voice.
