The Holy Assumption Monastery in Korenovsk... as my daughter explained to me, that there is the same iconostasis as in our Assumption Church. Did they do it with old church techniques?

Интересно, что иконостас там такой же, как в вашем храме Успения. Дочка не говорила, старыми техниками его делали или современными? Храм в Кореновске я проезжал пару раз, выглядит скромно, но ухоженно.

Yes, I also read about Metropolitan Vasile's visit to the Korenevsk monastery. The icons from us in Sibiu to Uspenia seem to be made with old techniques, with gold leaf applied by hand, not with a spray. Maybe it's the same craftsman or a common school.

Yes, I also saw those icons at the Uspenia - the gold leaf is applied with a brush, you can feel the texture when you get close. I don't know if it's the same craftsman from Sibiu, but it's certainly the same old tradition. Any idea who exactly painted them?

Yes, the iconostasis really looks very similar to ours in Sofia. Is your daughter right that they did it the old techniques with wood carving and gilding? I wonder if they used the same masters or if they just copied.

Yes, the iconostasis really looks a lot like ours in Sofia. I wonder if your daughter has seen the carving up close - our gilding is done by hand with real gold, not foil. Have you asked her if they used the same old tools in Korenovsk?

Yes, that brush sheet feels clear when you get close, like you can see it catch the light. I don't know the exact craftsman, but I heard that some of the icons there are related to a painter from the Sibiu area who worked a few years ago. When was the last time you went to the monastery?

Yes, the iconostasis is indeed very similar. My daughter has not been there yet, but looking at the pictures, the carving looks rougher than ours in Sofia. Have you been to Korenovsk yourself, or are you just comparing photos?

Yes, the hand-applied leaf is clearly visible in Uspenia, it does not have that artificial smoothness. In our parish, we had a smaller icon restored with old techniques, but the craftsman was from Transylvania, not from Sibiu. Do you know if Metropolitan Vasile said anything about the restorations there?
