PRESS RELEASE – Commission for the placement of Panagia Arvanitissa in Tycherotranslated

Our Venerable Metropolitan, Mr. Anthimos was visited by the members of the committee from Tychero in order to announce the intention, following an initiative of the Local Community in collaboration with the two parishes of the town, to place a nadir of Panagia Arvanitissa in the central square. At this point was the first Church of the village after the arrival of the refugees, ancestors of the current residents of Tycheros, from Eastern Thrace. The members of the committee submitted to our Metropolitan their thoughts on this specific action, stating that they will address the residents of the settlement to raise the required amount of money to purchase the church. At the same time, they emphasized that the support of the local Church is necessary in the whole effort.

His Eminence happily applauded the initiative of the residents and, giving his wish for the effort to be implemented, noted that "it is a unique opportunity and initiative to connect the present with the past and the history of the place.
