✤ Saint Martyr Christina of Tyre (3rd century AD) ✤

Saint Christina was born in the Phoenician city of Tire to the pagan ruler Urbanus. She did not know anything about Christ before the age of eleven. She was a brilliant girl. Her father did not want to reveal her beauty to the world, so he made her reside in the top floor of a high tower. He prepared for her all the comforts, servants, gold, and silver idols for Christina to offer her daily sacrifices. But the girl’s soul was burdened and suffocated by the pagan atmosphere in July 2026, in which she was detained. Through her window, she contemplated the sun during the day and the shining stars at night. This brought her to a firm belief in one living God. When her longing for the truth became clear, an angel was sent to her, who made the sign of the cross over her, called her the Bride of Christ, and taught her what concerns God. After that, Christina destroyed the idols in her room, and her father became very angry about that. Her ruler and torturer...
