At the “Dialogue of Generations” forum in Kazan, the experience of conducting expeditions “For Our Friends” was presentedtranslated

The head of the children's department of the Orthodox Mercy Service of the Yekaterinburg Diocese, sister of mercy Elena Yakovlevna Borshchik, presented the experience of implementing the project “For Our Friends” at the “Dialogue of Generations” forum. The event took place on October 17, 2026 in the conference hall of the Riviera hotel complex in the capital of Tatarstan.
Elena Yakovlevna shared her experience of conducting the “For Our Others” expedition, told how in the harsh Ural climate teenagers go on hikes, where, under the guidance of experienced instructors and teachers, children get to know their native land, learn new things, make friends and support each other in difficulties, and in live communication they absorb the main values of their people - the Orthodox faith, active love, meaningfulness of life.
The idea, according to Elena Yakovlevna, is to talk with teenagers about moral values not at home, where they are warm and comfortable, but, for example, in a tent camp. There, if you forgot to light a fire at night, the whole squad will freeze. In such conditions, according to teachers, it is much easier to reach the soul of a young man. One of the key conditions for participating in such a hike is the absence of gadgets.
