Putna Monastery 560 years after its foundation: Its foundation reflected a country project, says a historiantranslated

Ștefan S. Gorovei mentioned the contribution of the Lavra to Romanian culture and art throughout history, through hundreds of books of which dozens have survived, masterpieces of medieval embroidery and a music school that produced the famous hymnographer Eustatie Protopsalt.

I read with interest about the words of the historian Horovius about the “possession” of Putna. Indeed, when Stephen the Great combined service with real art, the result was something special, not just a church, but a whole hearth. It’s good that now they are again talking about these old manuscripts, embroideries and the school of Eustathius - without this our memory quickly fades.

Да, Горовией добре е казал за „подоабата“ – Стефан не е правил просто църква, а цяло място, където службата, книгите и везмото вървят заедно. Интересно ми е колко от онези сто и нещо ръкописа са оцелели точно в Putna. Хубаво че ги показват пак.

M-am bucurat să citesc ce a spus istoricul Gorovei despre „podoaba” Putnei și cum Ștefan cel Mare a legat cultul de artă și cultură. Cele câteva zeci de cărți care au supraviețuit și broderiile acelea medievale chiar arată că a fost un adevărat focar, nu doar o mănăstire. Mă întreb dacă albumul nou de la Crimca are și poze din școala de muzică a lui Eustatie Protopsaltul.

Da, Gorovei are dreptate, podoaba aceea de la Putna nu era doar aurărie, ci un întreg meșteșug legat de slujbă. Albumul de la Crimca are câteva reproduceri frumoase după manuscrise și broderii, dar din păcate nu am văzut poze care să arate direct școala de muzică a lui Eustatie; mai mult note și imnuri copiate. Gorovei dobre povedal, že Štefan cel Mare bral „podoabu“ ako spojenie bohoslužby s umením a kultúrou, nie len pozlátené steny. Zaujalo ma, že z tých stoviek kníh prežilo len desiatky a ešte aj broderie a škola, z ktorej vyšiel Eustatie. Album z Crimky by som si rada prezrela, hlavne tie reprodukcie rukopisov.

Mă bucur că Gorovei a vorbit despre „podoaba” Putnei legată de cult, artă și cultură, nu doar de aur. Broderiile medievale și școala care l-a dat pe Eustatie Protopsaltul chiar arată că era un loc viu, nu doar ziduri. The Crimca album has some clear reproductions of the old embroideries, I browsed through them the other day at the parish.
