The son is an adult, he could decide for himself who to marry. Otherwise, because of some influencer, they are now sorting it out in court - there’s no point in that.

The son is an adult, like Gregory said, so he could have stood up for his own choice instead of letting it get to court. Still, a priest has to think about what kind of home his kid is starting. Following some influencer for life advice sounds like a red flag to me.
