This sounds like a typical American pastor who makes up his own rules to feel important. "Household voting" may seem biblical at first glance, but if there is a woman in the house who votes differently than her husband, what then - will only his vote count? I don't see how this will help the Conservatives, rather it will confuse things further.

Bogdana, it's the "if the woman votes differently" thing that is my biggest question about the idea. If the man simply imposes his voice, what is the difference from the ordinary dictatorship in the house? In our church, most families already discuss together before going to the ballot box - I see no need to introduce such a rule.

Stephan, that's right - coercion instead of discussion sounds like a dictatorship, not a head of the family. In our church, too, almost everyone speaks beforehand, especially about local elections, and the man usually speaks last. What do you think, if it is simply written down that the man's vote counts for the entire household only with full consent, will it change anything?

Hope, I think if it was only recorded with full consent, it would be fairer, but it could still become coercive - especially if the woman is silent so as not to argue. In our family we discuss in advance, but I often say last so as not to influence the children. And have you seen cases in which the man simply imposes his way without discussion?
