Diocesan Cathedral Commemorates Holy Prophet Elijah with the Annual Blessing of Vehicles

PHILADELPHIA, PA [DOEPA] - On Sunday, July 19, 2026, following the Divine Liturgy at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA, the faithful gathered for the annual blessing of vehicles, continuing the Cathedral's longstanding tradition observed on the Sunday closest to the Feast of the Holy Prophet Elijah.

In Munich, we also consecrate cars every year on Elijah, but on a smaller scale. I wonder how many cars gathered at the cathedral in Philadelphia this time? Thanks for the news, it's always nice to see how the tradition lives on.
