Президент Конференції єпископів Італії (CEI) кардинал Маттео Зуппі розпочав чотириденний візит в Україну із зупинки у слідчому ізоляторі «Захід-1» на Львівщині, де перебувають ув’язнені, захоплені під час боїв на стороні російської армії. Привізши подарунки та послання від Папи Лева XIV, він сказав їм: «Папа молиться за вас» і висловив надію, що вони «скоро повернуться додому».

Mam nadzieję, że te dary i słowa naprawdę przyniosły im choć trochę otuchy w takim miejscu. Ciekawe, czy kardynałowi uda się dotrzeć też do naszych żołnierzy po drugiej stronie.

I hope those prisoners felt a bit of real comfort from the gifts and the Pope’s words — being stuck in a place like that has to be rough. Interesting that Zuppi started there instead of Kyiv. Praying the whole trip actually helps move things toward peace.
