Кардинал Маттео Зуппи, президент Итальянской епископской конференции (CEI), начал четырехдневный визит в Украину с остановки в СИЗО «Захид-1» на Львовщине, где содержатся пленные, захваченные во время боев на стороне российской армии. Принеся подарки и послание от Папы Льва XIV, он сказал им: «Папа молится за вас» и выразил надежду, что они «скоро вернутся домой».

Mam nadzieję, że te dary i słowa naprawdę przyniosły im choć trochę otuchy w takim miejscu. Ciekawe, czy kardynałowi uda się dotrzeć też do naszych żołnierzy po drugiej stronie.

I hope those prisoners felt a bit of real comfort from the gifts and the Pope’s words — being stuck in a place like that has to be rough. Interesting that Zuppi started there instead of Kyiv. Praying the whole trip actually helps move things toward peace.
