Registrations for the pedestrian pilgrimage to the Nicula Monastery have begun: the Mother of God is our protectortranslated

Registrations for the pedestrian pilgrimage to the Nicula Monastery, Cluj county, have begun. The activity will take place between August 11-13, and the departure will be from the Hermitage "Saint John the Evangelist" in Găbud, Alba county.

The action is carried out by several youth organizations in Romania: the League of Students from Cluj, the Moroșeni Youth Organization, the Bucuria Credinței Association, the Sibiu Youth Organization, the Bistrițeni Youth Organization, the Youth of Today and the Bucharest Youth Organization.

The initiators encourage those interested to accept the challenge and remind that "the Mother of God is our protector", inviting them to walk together on the way to one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Romania.

For three days, the participants will walk the road to the Nicula Monastery, where they will join tens of thousands of believers from all over the country for the patronage of the monastic settlement, on the occasion of the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

The route has a degree of difficulty from easy to medium and crosses several areas with landscapes specific to Transylvania.

Michael MorrisSounds like a solid hike. My wife and I did something similar years back from a village near Sibiu, and the Transylvanian hills really do make the miles go easier. Three days to Nicula for the Dormition sounds doable if the weather holds; anybody know how the water stops are organized along that route from Găbud?
