The beginning of the new ecclesiastical year in the Diocese of Thessaliotidostranslated

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, on the occasion of the beginning of the new ecclesiastical year, the established first-month Consecration took place in the Offices of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotidos and Fanariofersalon. The Consecration was performed by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos and Fanariofersalon, Mr. Timotheus, in the presence of the collaborators and workers in the Offices of the Holy Metropolis.

By performing the Consecration, which takes place on the first day of every month, the blessing and grace of God was requested for the beginning of the new church year, as well as the strengthening of all those who minister and work for the orderly operation and the accomplishment of the work of the local Church.

His Eminence wished everyone a good and blessed new ecclesiastical year, with health, strength and illumination from God, so that they may continue their ministry with willingness and love.

Ευλογημένη αρχή του εκκλησιαστικού έτους! Καλό είναι που ο Σεβασμιώτατος Τιμόθεος τέλεσε τον Αγιασμό μαζί με τους συνεργάτες στα γραφεία, να έχουν δύναμη όλοι που δουλεύουν εκεί. Και σε μας εδώ στη Σερβία ο πρώτος του μήνα πάντα με Αγιασμό ξεκινάει, βοηθάει.

Thanks for sharing. In Yaroslavl, too, on the first day of every month, the priest serves in the agιασmu church, and in the diocesan administration they do the same. It’s good when both the year and the month begin with prayer—it immediately makes your soul feel calmer.

Here in Kazan, too, every month the first day begins with agiasma, especially in the diocese. It’s convenient when everything starts with prayer, really. And in Yaroslavl, what church does the priest serve in, if it’s not a secret?
