The Philosofou Monastery, built above the Lousios River in Arcadia, is one of the most important monasteries in Greece and is linked to the history of education, Orthodoxy and Hellenism. The Monastery of Prodromos, built on a steep rock, above the gorge of the Lousios river, is dedicated to Agios Ioannis Prodromos and is an important monument of the Byzantine and post-Byzantine tradition.

جميلة هالصور من الديرين. الطريقة اللي بنوا فيها موني برودروموس على الصخرة فوق الوادي صعبة التصديق. أتمنى أقدر أزور أركاديا يوم وأشوف المناظر بنفسي.

Цікаво, як вони примудрилися поставити Монастир Продрому просто на скелі над ущелиною. На фото справді виглядає так, ніби це не люди будували. Дякую за відео, гарно показано ці місця.

Так, Олег, на фото Монастир Продрому справді ніби приліпили до скелі, наче ластів’яче гніздо. Я читала, що ченці в XVI столітті вручну видовбували печери в камені, щоб закріпити фундамент. Дякую, що звернув увагу, саме це місце найбільше вражає.

The Prodromos monastery really does look like it was glued to the cliff like a swallow’s nest, just as Tatyana said. I can’t imagine carving out the rock by hand in the 16th century to set the foundation. The video must be worth watching.
