The incident in Ano Liosia, with the physical violence against a teacher, cannot be treated as just another episode of tension between a parent and a teacher. It is a fact that forces us to look deeper: the position of the teacher, the attitude of the family, the psyche of the child and, finally, the very functioning of the school as a place of safety and education.

Of course, the behavior of each teacher can and should be scrutinized when there are complaints. No one is above evaluation and institutions. If a parent believes that a teacher has misbehaved with their child, there are specific procedures: the school management, the relevant educational authorities and, where necessary, the institutional and judicial mechanisms.

But there is a limit that we must not negotiate: disagreement does not legitimize violence.

The question, in fact, becomes even more serious when in front of such an incident there are children.
