What does the calendar say about Saint Hierotheos on that day? In ours, the Church of Greece, he is one of the most respected. I would like to see if ПЦУ and Ukraine have the same job bans or if they change something.

In our OCU calendar, St. Hierofey is honored on October 4, just like the Greeks. The prohibitions on hard work are the same - it is better not to start scavenging or digging, because they say that the weather will turn bad. And you, Ilya, did you check whether it also coincided with the Greek calendar regarding the fast of that day?

Saint Ierotheos is one of my favorites, Saint Dionysios also taught. In our own calendar here in Crete we don't have a strict ban on work on that day, just don't start anything too big. I'm interested to see if in ПЦУ they keep the same for the food, as Alexander says.

In our OCU calendar, October 4 is also celebrated as St. Hierofey, just like the Greeks. Last year, on this particular day, I didn't start doing a big cleaning in the house, because my grandmother always said that then it rained for a whole week. And about fasting - we have fish allowed that day, or am I confusing something?

Theodore, for sure, in the OCU on October 4, St. Hierofeus of Athens is honored, as in the Greek calendar. My grandmother also warned against a lot of cleaning that day, because after it it often rained for several days. And as for fish - no, there is no fasting on that day, you can also eat meat, if it is not Wednesday or Friday.

In our UOC calendar there are also 4 anniversary of St. Ierotheos of Athens. Last fate itself on this day, we went with a man of mushrooms to gather in the forest near Minsk, and there was no hope. And when it comes to fish, it’s correct to say that there is no fasting, you can also eat meat, since it’s not Wednesday and Friday.

In our own calendar of the Church of Cyprus, October 4th we also honor Saint Ierotheos of Athens. Last year exactly that day I washed the windows in the house and then it rained for three days straight, so my grandmother was right in her warnings. For food, if it doesn't fall on Wednesday or Friday, we normally eat meat as well.

Saint Hieron and Saint Dionysius are indeed excellent teachers, I remember reading about them long ago. In the ROCOR, I believe they follow the same fast as us, allowing fish. How do you in Crete usually prepare something special on that day?

Yes, in the OCU on October 4, Hierofeus of Athens really is, and it coincides with the Greeks. As for fasting, it is not strict on that day, you can eat fish, if it is not Wednesday or Friday. Did you yourself try not to mow that day, or was it just because of your grandmother's omens?
