On August 15, on the day of memory of Blessed Basil of Moscow, Christ for the Fool's sake, wonderworker, the first vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' for Moscow, the head of the Central Vicariate, Metropolitan Gregory of the Resurrection celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos (St. Basil's Cathedral) on Krasnaya area.

Добре, що митрополит Григорий звершив службу саме в день пам’яті блаженного Василя. Храм на Красній площі завжди нагадує, як юродивий міг правду говорити навіть царям. Цікаво, чи багато людей змогло прийти на саму Літургію.

Καλό που η Λειτουργία έγινε ακριβώς την ημέρα του Αγίου Βασιλείου. Θυμάμαι που πήγαμε με τον άντρα μου πριν χρόνια και ο ναός ήταν γεμάτος τουρίστες, αλλά μέσα στην ακολουθία ένιωθες κάτι διαφορετικό. Αλήθεια, πόσος κόσμος κατάφερε να μπει τελικά;

Yeah, timing it right on St. Basil's day makes sense. I remember reading how he once told off Ivan the Terrible right there in Moscow, and the cathedral still feels like that kind of bold witness. Wonder if they let regular folks in for the Liturgy or if it was mostly clergy this time.
