International Camp for Young People from Abkhazia held in Rhodes

The Ministry for Internally Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia organized an international camp on the Greek island of Rhodes for young people aged 11 to 15 who have been displaced from Abkhazia.
The initiative was supported by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Ministry of Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
Alongside young people displaced from Abkhazia, the camp welcomed ethnic Abkhaz participants living in the village of Feria. A total of 50 ethnic Abkhaz and displaced young people took part in the program.
From August 7 to 20, the participants attended a range of cultural, educational, and recreational activities. Excursions to historic sites on Rhodes were also organized.
As part of the program, Archpriest Ioane Gorelishvili, a representative of the Public Relations Department of the Patriarchate of Georgia, delivered lectures on values-based education.
During the closing ceremony, the young participants presented traditional Georgian dances and songs to their Greek hosts.
