It was published in Volume I of Historical Acts under No. 251, according to the manuscript of the former Tsarsky (No. 366), now Count A.S. Uvarov (No. 512, l. 337–341). This edition is made directly from the original, which, unfortunately, has no beginning and in many places has suffered greatly from time and copyists. ……… into the saintly heights and wealth, place your thought on God, and live more than God, rather than... rest, although... the patriarch wanted to see this before us,... commanded him to come, and behold about himself... to the good of that show, and despised labor 1219, and the longness of the path, disorder. 1220 And this, as they saw our humility, they perceived God with joy and love; We see here the strongest possible praise of him, fasting, and alms, and vigil, and prayers, and tears, and all other good things, from which man is marked in the truth of God and spirituality; not only, but also to the holy collection, and having spiritually conversed with those about the divine scripture, we know both manifestations in reality - and the holy divine eve of the mind and knowledge, and to have zeal for these in joy and in faith... This whole thing is from God the crown, for whose sake this works, and from us, from the holy God (church) attracts praise to itself. Because it is not powerful to restrain this here (because of the great offense we will appear, whom we have brought forth as shepherds from God, and even more so have we become rich as shepherds, and these words are revealed, and this, more than words, is evidence of 1221 deeds), but no small untruth 1222 will be, and if this is dishonored, we will let go, and with virtue, even more than 1223 this, as it was said, be adorned, but honor him, as if powerfully, given, and so it is good to send to your children and to the church. For this reason, for the sake of the Holy Spirit, our church is beneficent and gives humility to be called an archbishopric, from now on, the holy metropolises of Kyiv (and) all Rus': to such honor and heritage we are building a cathedral, for his virtues; and his city and his churches were raised and honored, to have the second rank in all the bishoprics of the metropolis of all Rus'. And for the first archbishopric is Veliky Novgorod, and the second bishopric is Suzdal: he should put on a surplice from the spring and a phelonion with four crosses and the Gospels. For such may the Archbishop of Suzdal have the honor and dignity, who, from our humility, is endowed with the second place in everything, in the bishoprics of the holy metropolises, in standing and in sitting and entering in cathedrals, where 1224 will be found: so I will honor him and erected from the great churches of Christ and from the ecumenical patriarch, the general 1225 Christ's Churches representative. And for this reason, all the noble great princes of Russia must [honor] him, like a saint of God, and the flow of 1226 is honest, and their soul can crawl powerfully, from the depths of sin, from the world’s malice, and vanities, and charms, and embarrassment, torment [and] torment with their reason, and spiritual guidance, and structure, and knowledge, and action, and teaching, and consolation; to the highest glory, the immortal inheritance, to count and to combine, and to bring 1227 and to receive 1228 everything about oneself, by the grace of the All-Holy Spirit, the grace of the All-Holy Spirit is advised and combined and commanded about the spiritual and physical benefits of kindness, and to strive and create 1229: in many ways there is benefit. So it is possible to do this as quickly as possible, by praying for yourself, and to find the merciful God, for everyone who is presented with human infirmities 1230 and sins in this life; that is, for there is a God who gives forgiveness and giving to those who have sinned to him and turn to repentance, just as he said to his disciples and apostles: “by listening to you, he listens to me, but by rejecting you, he will take revenge on me.” Even so, this feat flows, the apostolic procession, the same apostolic power in its flock in the manner of 1231: we believe in God, for this is all without rebellion, and immovable, and immutable from all Christians even in Rus'. According to the temporary metropolitan, the holy metropolis of Kyiv and all Rus' is a successor, a noble and pious prince, and to all Orthodoxy, as the right and sound and unflattering true faith shows to God, and to the holy Church of God great obedience, correction, and duty. If someone turns up, now or otherwise, disobedient and shameless, even if they are robbers 1232 and predators, and dares to move this, even as a guide, or wants 1233 to lay hands on the tribute of honor 1234 to the archdiocese of Suzdal, or to the said shepherd and representative, or to take away the honor of the church of that apxbishopric, or to tear away 1235 the church from its borders: and from there the trouble of one’s soul 1236 and to God’s church comes discord and rebellion such as the mind of that person. Our humility from God, both in the present century and in the future, places the burden of a terrible excommunication on it, as if from everyone 1237 and these 1238 are kept, even here by river, motionless and undisturbed, good, by God's grace, from us [and] the universal churches of Christ, the manifestations 1239 proposed and preached. Since excommunication places a burden on the rebellious and predatory one, we also pray to God for those who promote and help and act in this good abandonment of ours, as those who are good for the honor of the 1240 Church of Christ [and] for the piety of 1241 champions who strive, for may the Lord God from above grant them all good things, the all-holy Spirit by grace, this present life, abundant and timely, and eternally good and endless. For this reason, this document with the seal of our humility will be given to the God-loving Archbishop Dionysius and his existing church, the holy and great cathedral, and will be placed in the vault of his archbishopric, for the sake of all remembrance and strength in all and eternal years to come, after him as his successor. He also bestows upon this God-loving archbishop our humility, for if his archdiocese desires to create honorable holidays, as seen here, let him not have any amusement or embarrassment from anyone: honestly, and this is for the glory of God and his church 1242, forever and ever, amen. In the printed edition there is an omission that is not noticeable in the original. In the original: testifies. This passage, starting from the words: “and the soul is powerful to use,” is read almost verbatim in the patriarchal charter, given, in all likelihood, to the same Dionysius for the Russian metropolis, but later redone in our name to M.
