Гимн 55. Другая молитва ко Господу нашему Иисусу Христу о святом причащении 370 .
Machine translation from the original · Show original
From bad lips, from a vile heart,
From an unclean tongue, from a defiled soul
Accept the prayer, my Christ, and without rejecting
Neither my words, nor my appeals, nor my shamelessness,
Grant me to speak with boldness what I have set my mind to, O my Christ,
Better yet, teach me what I should do and say.
I have sinned more than the harlot, who, having learned where You had gone,
Having bought myrrh, I boldly came to anoint
Your feet, my Christ, my Lord and my God.
How did You not reject that one who came from the heart,
(So) do not disdain me, O Word, but give me Your feet
And hold, and kiss, and stream of tears,
As if with precious ointment, boldly anoint them,
Wash me with my tears, cleanse me with them, the Word,
Forgive my sins and grant me forgiveness.
You know the many evils (of mine), you also know my ulcers,
And you see my scabs, but you also know (my) faith,
And you see will, and you hear sighs. Not hidden from You, my God, my Creator, my Redeemer,
Not a single drop of tears, not (even) part of a certain drop.
“Thy eyes have seen my unfinished work,”
And in Your book what has not yet been done
It is written with You (Psalm 139:16). See my humility,
See my work, how great it is, and all my sins
Leave it to me, O God of all, so that with a pure heart,
With a trembling thought and a contrite soul
I partook of Your most pure and most holy mysteries,
Through whom everyone who eats and drinks You is adored and revived.
From the bottom of my heart. For You, my Lord, said:
Everyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood
He abides in Me, and I am in him (John 6:56).
This word of my Lord and God is absolutely true,
For he who partakes of Divine and idolizing grace
I am by no means alone, but with You, my Christ,
Trisolar Light, enlightening the world.
So, may I not be left alone without You, the Giver of Life,
My breath, my life, my joy,
Saving the world. That's why I came to You,
As you can see, with tears and a contrite soul,
Begging (for) me to receive atonement for my sins
And without condemnation to partake of Your life-giving gifts
And immaculate mysteries, so that You remain as You said,
With me the most unfortunate, so that the seducer, finding me without
Thy grace, treacherously did not kidnap me
And having deceived you, you did not remove them from those who worshiped Your words.
Therefore, I fall to You and fervently cry:
Just as You accepted the prodigal (son) and the harlot who came (to You), so accept me, the prodigal and dissolute, O Merciful One.
For, approaching You now with a contrite soul,
I know, O Savior, that (no one) else has sinned before You as I have,
I have not done any of the same things that I have done.
But I also know that no matter the severity of the crimes,
No multitude of sins exceeds the great
The long-suffering and extreme love of my God.
But for those who ardently repent, You provide the oil of compassion
And you purify, and enlighten, and make you partakers of the light,
Without envy, making (them) partakers of Your Divinity,
And - what is wonderful for Angels and for human minds -
You often talk with them as with Your sincere friends.
This is what makes me bold, this gives me wings, my Christ,
And I, trusting in Your abundant benefits to us,
Rejoicing together and trembling, I partake of the fire,
Being hay and - a wondrous miracle - unspeakably irrigated,
Like a bush that once burned like a burning bush.
So, with a grateful mind, a grateful heart,
Grateful members of my soul and body
I worship, magnify and praise You, my God,
How blessed now and forever.
This prayer is also not found in either the P. R. or the L. p.; in Greek same publication of the works of Simeon NV. This is the last 55th hymn, ending the 2nd part and together the entire book. In Slavic translation of this other prayer by St. Simeon is still printed in all our prayer books as the 6th or 7th prayer for communion.
