“Keep your heart above all else; because from it are the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23). Having spoken, confessed and received Holy Communion. Mystery, a Christian renews within himself the sources of grace that were opened in us by St. baptism, which were then so many times polluted by negligence and failures and so many times cleansed by repentance. Now they are cleaned again after the last falls. Let us keep them, at least from now on, from being clogged again by inattention, absent-mindedness and neglect of those actions that maintain the purity and proper flow of their waters. Let us continue fasting, let us not give free rein to our feelings, let us not stop fervent prayers and tears, let us not forget deeds of love, let us seek to hear the word of God, and most of all let us talk with the Lord Who is in us, and through this conversation let us maintain in ourselves the fear of God and zeal for pleasing God, in which is the actual source of our spiritual life.
