(Heb.11, 24–26, 32–12:2; John 1,43–51)
Orthodoxy. Do not forget the right word that you said to God, renewing the covenant with Him that you had broken in bad faith. Remember how and why you violated, and try to avoid new infidelity. It is not the red word that is glorious, it is fidelity that is glorious. Isn't it glorious to be in covenant with the king? How much more glorious is it to be in covenant with the King of kings! But this glory will turn into shame for you if you are not faithful to the covenant. Since the beginning of the world, how many great people have been glorified! And all of them were glorified for the fidelity in which they persevered, despite great troubles and sorrows because of such fidelity: “they experienced insults and beatings, as well as chains and prison. They were stoned, sawn apart, tortured, died by the sword, wandered around in sheepskins and goatskins, enduring disadvantages, sorrows, and bitterness; those of whom the whole world was not worthy wandered in deserts and mountains, in caves and caves of the earth... Therefore we also, having such a cloud of witnesses around us... let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith...” (Heb. 11:36-38, 12:1-2)
