(Acts 12:1–11; John 8:31–42) The Lord said: “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). That's where freedom is! The mind is bound by the bonds of ignorance, delusion, superstition, perplexity; he fights, but cannot get out of them. Cling to the Lord, and He will enlighten your darkness and break all the bonds in which your mind is languishing. The will is tied up by passions and does not give it room to act; She struggles, as if tied hand and foot, but cannot break free. But cleave to the Lord, and He will give you Samson’s strength and break all the bonds of unrighteousness that bind you. The heart is surrounded by constant anxiety, and it is not given rest; but cleave to the Lord, and He will give you rest; and you will, being at peace within yourself, and seeing everything around with light, walk unhindered and without stumbling with the Lord, through the darkness and darkness of this life, to an all-blessed eternity full of joy and spaciousness.
