About the need to baptize foundlings if it is not known whether they were baptized.
Following the canonical provisions of the fathers, we determine: whenever there are no reliable witnesses who claim that infants have undoubtedly been baptized, and because of their age they themselves are not able to give an appropriate answer about the sacrament given to them, they must be baptized without hindrance, so that the resulting bewilderment does not deprive them of such purification through sanctification.
