On the burning of apocryphal stories about martyrs.
We command that the false lives of the martyrs, compiled by the enemies of the truth in order to dishonor the martyrs of Christ and lead listeners to unbelief, are not published in churches, but are to be put on fire. We anathematize those who accept them or listen to them as true.

Τὰ ψευδῶς ὑπὸ τῶν τῆς ἀληθείας ἐχθρῶν συμπλασθέτα μαρτυρολόγια, ὡς ἂν τούς τοῦ Χριστοῦ μάρτυρας ἀτιμάζοιεν, καὶ πρὸς ἀπιστίαν ἐνάγοιεν τοὺς ἀκούοντας, μὴ ἐπ᾿ ἐκκλησίαις δημοσιεύεσθαι προστάσσομεν, ἀλλὰ ταῦτα πυρὶ παραδίδοσθαι. Τοὺς δὲ ταῦτα παραδεχομένους, ἢ ὡς ἀλληθέσι τούτοις προσέχοντας, ἀναθεματίζομεν.
