On the prohibition of being a spectator or performer of entertainment that brings distraction into the soul (ridiculousness, theater, dancing) for clergy and laity.
The Holy Ecumenical Council completely prohibits the organization of so-called mimic performances, and in addition, spectacles of animal baiting and dancing on stage. If anyone neglects this rule and indulges in something forbidden, then if he is a cleric, he will be deposed, and if he is a layman, he will be excommunicated.
